Church of the Brethren 300th Anniversary Celebration
In 1708 Alexander Mack and his group of seven followers began meeting in Schwarzenau, Germany. The eight believers were baptized in the Eder River in 1708, after traveling to America the group became known as the Church of the Brethren.
In 2008, the Church of the Brethren celebrates 300 years of worshiping Christ Peacefully, Simply, and Together.

Annual Conference 2008
Annual Conference will be held in Richmond, VA from July 12-July 16, 2008. The Conference will celebrate the 300th anniversary in a variety of ways, including a combined worship with the Church of the Brethren and the Brethren Church. Anniversary Celebration at Rockingham County Fairgrounds
The Shenandoah District will celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the Church of the Brethren on September 5-7 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.

Church Trip to Annual Conference
First Church has set a goal of taking 50 people to Annual Conference in Richmond for all, or part of Annual Conference week. Our goal of 50 people allows many members of the congregation to receive a first hand look at how Annual Conference works, as well as fellowship and celebrate with members of the denomination from all over the United States.
300th Anniversary Celebration Sunday—August 3, 2008
Plans are underway for a special service on Sunday August 3 to celebrate and commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Church of the Brethren.
The 300th Anniversary Committee is busy planning more events for First Church to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the Church of the Brethren.
